I am currently wondering where my next phase of life will take me. I'm also a UK size 6 whom is perpetually late. I tend to procrastinate altho i dislike it. Im totally jaded about ulcers because of my favourite indulgence in junkfood. I love kids and all things small as midget-sized things are always adorable. So if you decide to like me amidst my weird quirks, i think i'll like you too (:

    Happy Chinese New Year!

"Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. It is often called the Lunar New Year, especially by people in mainland China and Taiwan. The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first lunar month (正月) in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival. Chinese New Year's Eve is known as Chú xī. It literally means "Year-pass Eve"." (Wikipedia, 2009)

So... Happy Chinese New Year y'all!

As if i will blog so little right. I went to check out the definition of CNY and LunarNY 'cause im not sure of the difference. I think it's the same right? And my picture is really small because i don't like it at all, yet i cant find any proper picture to upload for the occasion :/
Ok anyway, it's Chu1 Yi1 today. I'm feeling stuffed yet greedy every moment of the New Year. CNY is really eat, eat, eat and then eat. I just had my first case of tummyache and diarrhoea earlier. Think Carlsberg, Tea, Shui3 Jiao3, rice and goodies don't go too well together. Haha. Tml is Family Day at the Zoo! Hopefully everything turns out fine!

Guess i don't have much to blog about or that im distracted by teevee again. Tsk. I'm finally done with my cleaning (okay 90% lah) so i can have a good rest today. Let's enjoy this holiday before we have to get back to the reality of working/studying!

Happy Chinese New Year to my family, boyfriend, friends, colleagues and most of all, FatFat! We shall chill, eat and grow ulcers together (oh wait, i already have one)! Loves (:

    Same 'ol Bandung.

I find it boring and meaningless whenever i visit blogs that talk about the same thing over and over again. Till the extent that the whole blog archive, blog name, wallpaper and tags are all on the same thing. Note: I'm only talking about the extreme ones.

Well, i understand that maybe you're totally soulfully devoted to this subject and this is your whole life. But still, don't you have any other aspects of your life to think about? Or any other activity that you do that is different from the centralised one? Maybe these people would think "Hah, Shirley doesn't understand passion, doesn't understand what loving something is all about" yadda yadda.

I'm not talking about subjects like Family for example because i understand that this is instinctual and something we should think about all the time. I tried to fit in an example so that i stop using general terms like "things" and "something" but i realized i couldn't. It seems too direct and finger-pointing to every subject i tried to use.

Oh i know let's try Apple as the subject! If i'm an Apple Devotee/Lover/Practitioner, does it mean i have to eat, sleep, think, talk, Blog about Apples? No right?! Shouldn't I have other concerns such as my boyfriend (who is not an Apple Devotee like me), my family's electricity bills or people who are less forunate, to name a few?

Just a thought. (i know it's a long thought process. haha)

Which is why I'm trying hard not to blog about the same ol' thing all the time. You'll probably realize i blog most about my bf and about kids. I'm sorry if i bore you out! But because i have a career working as a physical play Trainer and most of the time i hang out with Mr Boyfriend. I do loads of other activities too and with other people but it's just that these are not as frequent or maybe i'm lazier when it comes to uploading photos of events because there are just too many so i have lesser pictures to to include in my entries. See, i have my difficulties... Haha (:

I'm hoping to keep my blog entries varied and interesting so that i don't contradict what i just preached about. Lol. I would love to know about more interesting blogs to keep me entertained when i'm online (apart from what i read now, which is PostSecret, Xiaxue and i don't know what else). Please share! but i'm like asking the air because people who drop by doesnt seem to like to tag and it isnt much fun coming by to check my blog, see little/no response and feel as if i'm talking to myself.

Anyway, remember i mentioned about searching your blog name and stuff on Yahoo/Google? I found out that there's actually a Band called "Ang Bandung Shirley"!

    Logo taken from http://www.myspace.com/angbandangshirley

OMG. HAHAHA. In case you dont know, my surname is Ang. HAHAHAHA. I'm so sorry if you're from the band or a fan! I'm not laughing about your band, just the coincidental name....... Oh no, what if that's one of the member's full name? I don't think so lah hor... ... right?

I don't know which country this Band is from cause i don't understand their language but i know 1 thing for sure, Shirley Ang doesn't look like That. Gosh. At least it looks cute and is related to candy!

Fwahahaha. This is ridiculous. My thoughts are drifting away cause i'm watching TV. BYE!

    let's talk about the weather!

Hello! I'm feeling free so i decided to blog. Without any topic in mind. lol.

It's sooo cold these few days! (i know, talking about the weather is such an unique topic!) The cool breeze is blowing in my face as i type, as if at the beach. I guess the best part about this weather is... sleeping in (plus always being in a dreamy mood)! AHH. What a ridiculous thing to blog about.

Please load and watch the video on the left of my blog instead. It's called "If I Had Eyes" by Jack Johnson. Not a new song definitely, just that it's been 1 of my favourites for awhile now. The first few lines of the song kept going round in my mind so i decided to put it up even though there is no mtv for it.

Oh ya, something from out of nowhere. I realized that my viewers jumped up from a mere 10+, 20 to 30 to 40+ a day. In a week, it's from around 120 to nearly 200 (okay it's a rough count cause im lazy to calculate the difference so it doesnt seem to tally. haha). Then my viewers came from around the world as compared to just 2-3 countries before. Wonder how Nuffnang figure out the numbers and referrals (meaning which country/site/blog the views come from), Techonology is so amazing. Anyway, all this big talk is for me to mention this totally random link off the net.

Apparently, there's this site by a hairdresser about haircuts which linked my entry about my perm. Here's the entry with less than 5 sentences: http://haircuttingfun.livejournal.com/144423.html You link me, i link you! -.- ... Wow, i used a perm machine! Haha. And im called a woman! Sorry if im being silly, but i just find it funny that i got linked from there. Really surprised to see it. One day you should just try searching your blog, your name and other things related to you in yahoo/google. It's amazing, the things you find. Okay, i'm running out of adjectives & adverbs for the day! Hope i didnt bore you out!

Bye guys! Have a good night' (:

    review for lombok.co.uk

Just moved? Bored of how everything looks same old, same old? Thinking of giving your place a new look yet still feel comfortable and natural?

I have just the solution for you!

Lombok, is an Eastern inspired furniture brand that keeps the environment in mind while they source for natural and recycled materials to create pieces that are stylish, comfortable and with that reassuring lived-in feel. Beautiful and environmental friendly, now that's a good combination!

They have several shops in London and are expanding confidently nationwide. As such, when you enter their site at http://www.lombok.co.uk/, their prices are in pounds. For locals, here's the exchange rate for you:

    1SGD = 0.4439GBP

Let's take a look at what they have! From their site, you can browse comfortably from furniture to lighting and accessories as they categorized neatly into 4 main parts of our daily lives, mainly,

. When i first glanced at the site, i was hooked on for hours going through all the gorgeous setting they have done up with their furniture. It's like how you love shopping at Ikea!

Under Eat, they have a wide variety of dining tables, chairs, console tables, tableware... Under Live, they have cupboards, dressers, benches, daybeds, upholstered seating... Under Work, they have desks, office chairs, book cases, desk accessories ectera. I have left out Sleep, because it's my favourite section! Under Sleep, they have lovely beds, bedlinen, throws and quilts, screens, bedside tables, chest of drawers, wardrobes and many more!!

I think the bedroom has to be the most nicely done up place in the house because it's where you go to for relaxation and snooze whenever you need. It should be luxurious and so comfortable that when you wake up, you feel "ahh... life is good", smile, and snuggle abit more before you start your day. Tee-hee. I love my bedroom, i decorated it myself and it's a nice soothing blue with a queen-sized bed, quilt, curtain and soothing posters of the beach. However, i guess i wouldn't mind if you could change it into Lombok-style like this:

It feels so Bintan-ish! I wouldn't have to take a ferry to get the island feel anymore because it can be achieved right at home with Lombok! (I wish. Or maybe somebody would like to sponsor the change for my house? (:)

Then, i'll furnish my new place with romantic lighting with the use of lamps! You get to choose your lampbase to match with your lampshade too! Here are 2 of my favourite lamps, Hana style floor lamp and another with an Oval ceramic lamp base.

Some windlights are needed to supply the romantic atmosphere too, of course. Tadah, 2 of my favourite windlights, Clear beaded and bamboo windlight and Glass windlight with natural stone coloured base! Even the names sound nice. Hehs.

Tealight holders add that extra bit of sparkle on the table as well! Here's Stainless steel Hammered tealight holder and Beaded silver votive.

Lombok also provides pretty accessories such as these handmade Floral coasters!

Imagine when visitors come by... ..."oh hey your strawberry mocktail is really nice... what's this underneath? Wow! Even your coasters are pretty, can i have one? Please?"

    ... ...

ANYWAY, this is a very good time to check out Lombok because...

they are having a SALE! I know we all love Sales! Even small accessories like the coasters have become cheaper by £4.65, that's over S$10 cheaper! The Clear beaded and bamboo windlight is now £14.00 (S$31.50) only, after a discount of £15.35 (S$34.57) So, can you imagine the amount of money you can save from the bigger pieces like beds and tables? Please do the Math yourself!

Moreover, many of their items are painstakingly handmade! I'm sure you will be amazed when you see the description of how the items are made from the site. Okay, let me just show you 2 descriptions. The last 2 pieces i mentioned were the lamp and the coasters so here goes.

    The lamp:

"made from clear glass beads which have been carefully hand woven through a bamboo frame. The bamboo has been stained white. Each windlight has a glass tube to act as a windshield, allowing the windlights to be used outside and also protecting the beads from the heat"

    and the coasters,

"the paper starts as a silver layer and black paint is layered over the top. The design is then etched out by hand using acid which removes the black allowing the silver to shine through. The design is made on flat sheets and then the very fine layer of metal paper is wrapped around a wooden box lid and coasters and held in place by tiny tacks".

Phew, i feel tired simply from reading the process. With all this intensive work needed to produce exquisite Lombok pieces, the money is definitely worth it! Go check out Lombok.co.uk yourself now!

    Online Shopping.

Gumballs! "Blow bubbles with these bright and yummy gumballs that are just perfect for your machine! In bold festive colors, these tasty candies will brighten any occasion! Assorted fruit flavors."

Doesn't that sound nice to you too? No this is not an advertisement. Lol. I finally tasted the gumballs that i bought online, shipped all the way from US (i think?). I waited real long for this batch of spree items but they turn out to be... quite a disappointment :( Online shopping doesnt always provide us the quality products we thought we're getting, but somehow we still always give in to the initial excitement when we shop. Tsk.

I thought i could finally taste, chew and blow BIG bubbles like what i read in Archie Comics or on English shows. From young, i always imagine going down the street, popping a quarter into the tiny candy machine and turning knobs to get BIG colorful gumballs! They would taste really fruity and sweet, not artificial at all like the normal gum we have (actually we dn have, i meant when we go M'sia, Thailland or the islands)! I would then proceed to blow a big bubble and almost fly off the ground... ... except that im holding on tight to the lamp post! Or or or... maybe im just reading too much of Archie Comics. Anyway, if you're around my age, you might remember those lil candy machines in arcades. However, what we have here in Singapore, those are sweets and they seem as if they were there for over a year (they probably are) and melts halfway down the tube. Yech. So i thought i would order them! and i thought i could put them here too:

All right not exactly here, but i didnt bother taking a picture of the gumball machine i (my brother) have. Actually im lying! Remember i thought they were BIG? How could i have planned to put them in my gumball machine? I seriously thought it's called Machine-size Gumballs because they are the size that those lucky American kids can get from the machines down their streets :/ So when they came and it was miniature, the size for those miniature machines. The fruity flavours consist of pineapple, banana, blueberry, orange, cherry too.. Can i choose to have more of the normal flavors like grape n strawberry next time? They were kind of hard to chew on and nt satisfying if you have a gum-urge because you probably need 3 to blow up a regular-sized bubble. Am i thinking too much, or do other countries really have nice gum like what i imagined before? Hmm..

I ordered Tootsie Roll pops too! Tootsie rolls are supposedly very popular so i thought these would be nice but... the candy and the chocolate inside doesnt blend well. They have cherry too! Loads! (i hate cherry.) I just finished one as i blog and while i ate, all i wanted was to munch off the candy shell to get to the chocolate inside.

ChuppaChups! This, i didnt get off the net la. My K2 girl gave it to me today (: It's 3 in 1 -strawberry, mango and banana. It looks cute and im happy that she brought along 1 for me and the remaining 3 are for her classmates. Teehee. I doubt that it would taste good though. Talking about school/work... Our new older kinds (nursery) are most or less settled in school but the new pre-N and juniors are still giving me a headache. WAHHhhHhh "i want mummy~!" Yep.

On the good side, there's this boy Zhi Xun in my Nursery Class. I posted his picture up during our field trip to Sentosa? When it was time to go home, he said "Thank You Aunty Shirley!" (YES trainers are somehow called AUNTY and UNCLE when we are the YOUNGEST in every centre compared to the teachers n princpals. -.-) It was so nice of him to say tt suddenly (probably to thank me for taking him for physical play and music) but i was busy hugging another child goodbye so i have not responded. Then he said again, "Thank You Aunty Shirley For Everything!" It was such a WOW moment for me. I looked at him and blinked. Then i said "Thank You to you too, Zhi Xun!" and gave him a big hug. So sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! :))))) *smiles till jaw hurt

Okay, back to online shopping! I received my eye masks as well as my E.L.F makeup too! Im so pleased with the masks seller and it's my 2nd time ordering from her though im nt done with my 1st batch. Haha. It's this Gel Eye Mask from Taiwan.. Sorry im lazy to get the picture (: They actually dont seem very useful but it just feels good to put them on, smells nice and its soft so i ordered 2nd batch without thinking. The seller is prompt and packs the items neatly.

TOTALLY different from the E.L.F spree-er. Her nick in LJ is misspeiqispree (im not linking her cause it doesnt seem right). The spree took ard 2months can?! She takes forever to reply email and doesnt update on the spree at all. It finally came after i checked at the PO and gave up hope on it. Look at the conditions of the 2 packages that arrived together:

Obviously the all crumpled one is the E.L.F makeup. Tsk. Friends, please check the rating of the sellers/spree-ers before buying from them ok!

The E.L.F items are... so-so. Oh well, what could you expect from 1USD? Haha. The clear mascara was useless, lipgloss tasted bad and i couldnt for the life of me open the bronzer lid. the brush was nice and the all over colour stick was good for my cheeks thou. It was worth it to try the brand i guess. Sasa's selling them at 2 for $9.95?

Ahem. I seem like i have a lot to complain about! But actually im feeling quite good today that's why im blogging, a long entry at that! I haven even bathed though it's after 12am! C'mon, big hug! I hope you like reading about my rants on my online shopping items :/ It's boring isnt it, all text and no picture or all pictures without faces in 'em?

So here you go! A totally un-photoshopped picture from Bintan! Hopefully my next post would be on my Bintan trip! Im gonna bathe now and try to sleep away a new headache that's coming up again. Bye! I love my family, my bf, FatFat and my FRIENDS too! (:

    2009 Resolutions... not?

    Happy New Year! Happy 2009!

Yay, im 4days late again! Next time just check my blog for updates 4 days after any event okay? :/

Since it is the start of a New Year, let me try to set some New Year Resolutions. I didnt get to do them last year cause i was in Taiwan remember?! (but weirdly, the start of this new year didnt feel any different from last year when i didnt celebrate it here either. It's like, oh 2009, okay then.)

    1) Spend more time with family not be lazy to accompany or selfish, only wanting to have fun :(
    2) Treasure time with Mr Boyfriend not complain or bring up negative stuff as much as possible :(
    3) Save, save, save! NOT spend lavishly online, on shopping, on fancy food, on wants whenever i feel like it :(

The above are things i've always tried to remind myself to do actually. Hah. Also, in no particular order:

    4) Sleep early, meaning around 12 when there's work not 3am everyday!
    5) Eat less junkfood to lessen ulcers and sorethroat not cave and eat when i feel like it... ok maybe ignore this one
    6) Exercise. taking PhysicalPlay & PhysicalEd at work is not counted
    7) Oh yes, cook for my family and do more housework!
This sld be all the way up!
    8) Bring my parents somewhere for a holiday when it's possible. (together w my brother)
    9) Be early for work. As for going out w bf, i will try harder. As for friends, it will depend on which group because i know some of you will 99.999% be late so there's no point (you know who! haha)
    10) Seriously, stop being so lazy!

I guess my resolutions are not really resolutions. Told ya i will just TRY. They are such simple things and most really just boil down to being lazy. When we're not lazy, i guess we can accomplish many more things. I know im being very general here and my entry is really boring. Honestly, im blogging for the sake of blogging and am half watching tv thats why. so distracted :/ Maybe i sldnt post this up.. Okay, back to my general-ness. Hmm...

My goals for long-term are probably in my mind and those are the bad habits i would like to change. I'll try, and hope that my 2010 resolutions are not the same. I wanted to continue these aimless thoughts but i told myself to stop. Lucky you.

I sld really abide by my Resolution No.2 because...

    Baby's going to NS. :((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

Contrary to what you are thinking from the picture, no, he is not in yet. The dreaded day is 12March2009. Sigh. After 1 full year of "stolen" freedom he had that we enjoyed together, his letter finally came. Im not sure how we're both going to cope after almost 2 years of being together almost everyday. The longest that we had not seen each other is probably 1 wk? and that happened less than i can count on 1 hand.

I'm afraid.. fearful, of the changes that might/would happened. I know things change between couples during this period (for others tt i've seen la) and i really hope that it wouldnt. If there has to be a change, make it a good one. I will then call baby my Man instead of my Boy! Alright, let me not think about that for now first. At least we'll get to spend our 2nd year anniversary together. (:

Anyway if you still didnt get why the picture is there, it's cause i thought the black-framed specs that baby currently likes look like the army kind. and he cut his hair botak again so he looks like he just came out from Tekong too. (He wanted to cut Mullet but he didnt like what the hairdresser did so he decided to go to another to snip it all off. )

I shall not think about my botak and NS in the same sentence anymore. Night! and school/work officially reopens tml! Hello wailing children! and Bye blog, i just broke my Resolution no.4!

    it's 1:15 AM now
