i love children because...

I love children because...

no matter how i'm feeling, they can always make my day!

When im upset, tired, feeling unjust ecetera, just looking at them makes me feel better. Try talking to (with) them, and the world seems a better place. Try dancing with them, and you feel that everything's going to be all right. Wait till you get a hug from them!

I was just watching the rerun of Army Days on OKTO, remember it? I think i watched it before eons ago when i was in primary school. It was way popular back then. 1 of the NS man actually said "nowSaday"! OMG. It's what my girls have i been using for quite awhile now, ever since our BEE used it accidentally. HAHAHA. ALong with words like "youngterS" "coRourful" and "bRing BRing" as opposed to youngsters, colorful and bling.

Before you wonder about my sudden topic change, the show reminded me of my boyfriend who's in OutField right now. And i long for a hug from... the kids! (because i know i can't get it from my boy so soon ma!) I remember the first week when baby went for Tekong, i was getting all my hugs from the children and feeling much better. Tee-hee.

I'm not boyfriend crazy okay. Most of the time, im actually quite fine on my own. It's the sudden bouts of moments when i realize i can't call or see him whenever i want that i feel weird. I know i sld stop yakking about this but i just want to, sue me. (And i don't want baby to think i don't miss him out here.)

Anyway, i'll get my dose of love from the children tml! I miss Kai! He's the boy in the picture, currently, my favourite kiddo. He's sooo adorable i tell you. I wanted to upload videos of him but realized i can't, prob need to put on youtube first. I know he miss me too cause he kept asking the other teachers on thur n fri (i was on off and at the Japanese Association to teach) where i was! Hehs. I would love to do up a post on why i love all these li'l sweetums but that will take some time. I'll try! I know i have not blogged about Bintan part 2 even. I'll try too!

For now, it's time to get off the net. Oh after i grumble about having a brother who drives a bike first. Not really grumble actually. With the bike, i have a brother who asks me around midnight every day what i would like for supper. And if i would like to go out for some prata or toast at 2am as well. Like, how can i say no? I already have my share of latenight snacks and junkfood and now it's worse! I had 2 packs of oreo with milk right before i slept at 4am last night and cold beancurd + oreos again just now. (Mummy bought the oreo box for me so i'm tempted to eat them every single night). The feeling of milk and cookies or junkfood and novel right before i head to noddyland is so sinful, it's divine. Tsk.

Facebook, or the lack of it + Speak Mandarin Campaign!

Well it's true,

Want to join the 1,000,000000 people who have tried to persuade me to join since 2 years ago? C'mon! It's fun being asked again and again!

Since year 3, Nique has been asking me to join this "new" (then) thing but i always get distracted halfway through the sign up. Im just lazy to go through such things again. Come to think of it, i have not touch my Friendster/Whosgoing or any other account for a looong time now. See, blog, you're still my faithful channel for killing online time (: *big sloppy kiss*

I must say i have been tempted by my friends when they show me their pet house and do e facebook talk about "oh you know that picture she uploaded..." or "don't need to send, i just upload all our photos on facebook ok..." NO, not okay! Missy here is living in the stone ages, aku no facebook.

And who needs the extra trouble of letting people (your significant other :x) see photos and stories that you do not want known? ~~right ching? :X~~

But sometimes i feel like giving up and just join for the sake of it. Like so that there will not be the number 1,000,000001 person asking me to do it. And sometimes it is really boring online, im not too sure how i spend hours just surfing the net and doing rubbish. Oh well. Should i join facebook (after you shut down yours 'cause i got annoyed with all the girls throwing sheep at you or sth shitty like that) baby?

Anyway, I was looking for this Speak Mandarin Campaign video months ago when i first saw it on teevee. Nobody knew about it and i couldn't find it laa. Now finally it's up in youtube! I love this girl!

Zi Kan Jian Shan Shan De Xing Xing Lan Lan De Tian! She probably got too excited that it's the last phrase so she rushed through at the back. Haha. Soo adorable! I love how they fill the whole screen up with the kids' face with no extra shenanigans around. Tee-hee (:

I wonder how many takes they took to get the one they want. Haha. Omg TOO CUTE! Love the last video the most, where she stumble all over her words. You can actually see the pause where she forgot her words. Haha (: I want this girl! *puts her inside my bag and scurries away* Oh, and silly me actually thought they are all the same girl! I think the last 2 is different from the first la cause she seems about 2 instead. And her video is named Noemie Jr, sister maybe? Pardon me if im totally wrong. Hehs. By the way, I think this is a really good advert!

Alrighty, it's 1am now. I didn't meet my dance girls cause the plan was too last minute told to me :( and dint meet my poly girls cause erm, im rather lazy :( Sorry! Didn't meet my besties for steamboat too! Actually 1 of my main reason is also to be home at 1030 to talk to my love properly cause as mentioned, he's going outfield tml... Anything for him!

Hope everybody enjoyed their night though! I enjoyed my day doing nothing at YewTee with Yin again! I think YewTee (esp McCafe though it has loads of flies) is now my favourite chillout place! Food? CHECK. Lounge area? Check. 24hour? Check. Watsons/Ntuc for me to buy random bodycare products and junk food? Check. Manicure salon? Check. Near my place? Check. Friends who stay nearby? Check! If you go pass YewTee i bet you can spot me there idling my life away. Haha! I sound like some sad li'l girl! No lah, i just find it nice to slack there. But i think we sldnt do that too often, right Yin? ~~i'm starting to get sick of it already~~

Happy 20th Birthday to my boy! (:

HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY, baby boy!!! (:

Yepyep, 20thApril is Mr Victor's birthday! We almost couldnt celebrate it because he was supposed to be confined the whole weekend and the following weekend he has outfield. Can you imagine celebrating your birthday 3 weeks late?! But thankfully, they let him out for half a day on Sunday! (:

It's better than nothing okay! He booked out in the morning and we met in the erm, afternoon :( Because of my lousy planning :( I was supposed to wake up at 8am, prepare his present and cake and surprise him at his place! Due to some miscommunication with his mom, i didnt try as hard to wake up earlier and thus only met him 4hours after he was out. Times awasting man...

And the silliest thing was, i was still packing his present by the time he met me. I guess some things never change - my procrastination, and being no good at keeping secrets and surprises. Oh well, it's been 2 years, i believe we have pass the stage whereby i can actually prepare his present in front of him. Right baby? HAHA. Hey... it was a last minute thing that he can book out so i wasn't fully prepared mahhh. *shrugs*

So anyway, my Army Man! Or my Man from Army! Or... erm... either way it sounds weird. Whatever. Ain't he the most good looking bloke you have seen, clad in green-splattered-paint? Teehee :D NooooooOooOoooo baby, please don't go back to Tekong!

We sat for awhile in YewTee's McCafe drinking-ultra-horrid-tasting Iced Passion Tea. Let me digress, i felt like i was drinking rubber, if rubber could be drunk. I poured so much sweetener to make it taste normal as i was beyond thirsty n simply looking for a place to sit. Their lattes scuk too, same, as if im drinking iced water with sweetener that turned bad! And i don't mean just the YewTee branch, it's the 1 at Pasir Ris too. Gosh, i think the only proper drink is the Mocha Frappe... tsk. Makes me wonder if their standard was always this bad, or has it worsen? Alright, so that was where he pretended not to peep at me wrapping his present.

Cute? (: It was a last minute idea and i thought it was not bad. If only i had more time to pack it properly... I made a collage of our pictures (especially with bloopers of him) then pasted it on those hard pretty paper/card. Then i wrote the birthday wishes on the back of it. I wrapped the present in this blue tissue-y crepe paper and then wrapped the card around it. Added the lil ribbons and tadah, home wrapped gift. And YES, that adorable litle boy in the centre is my boyfriend when he was a size mini! Aww... ... (:

Here's his present which i have lost sleep over. Sigh, what a long story but i'm gg to attempt to tell it briefly! I wanted to get him a mp3 with big headphones but he didn't want as he kind of has 1 now. Shirts are boring as i have bought him so many things to wear already. I remembered he wanted a small sling bag (though i have gotten him 1 before.. but it was too big. not sure if i blogged about it) so i thought Porter suits him best.

First, i went to Porter International at Wisma (after my research on Porter goods online). I immediately disregard the small pouches as i told Bee & Yin "chey, so small, put what?!" I checked out the slings and they were still within my budget but decided to head down to HeadPorter (pun not intended) at Surrender to check out the products from Tokyo. This was an ulu shop that i found on the net and after checking with Vic's friend who used to go with him. We walked pass it twice before realizing that it's on the 2nd level of a random shop with Adidas logos on the door.

HeadPorter items are like double the price of Porter International and obviously, i wanted to head back to Wisma to get the sling which is like the price of HeadPorter's pouch only. But somehow we got brainwashed by the shop assistant who claimed that the Porter in Wisma is FAKE cause it's from Taiwan. So i spent a nice 3 digit figure for the mini pouch that could actually have paid for a sling at Porter Wisma... I still felt happy about it ok, cause baby's wallet used to be from HeadPorter Tokyo too. Oh and Surrender's supposedly the only shop that sells HeadPorter products in Singapore...

I assumed that Vic might find the shop at Wisma "fake" too, it could be a guy thing you know. But he was like "no lah, not fake. Just that it's from a different place what..." And i started questioning the right of the guy for saying a proper recognised shop at Wisma fake when his shop is so much ulu... You might judge me for being the unknowing one but still, at least Wisma will give you a nice paper bag and not some black plastic for a 3 digit cost item right? So ya, secretly i think my boyfriend prefers the sling so i wanted to buy another. But he insisted he wants what i chose for him. "Just a lanyard and karibina more from Porter will do". How i love this guy. Hehs.

I googled (actually yahoo-ed) and the first 1 is kind of like what i bought. The second seemed to be another he mentioned that is "grenade-shaped". AHHH. If only the pouch is bigger, he could keep his wallet in too. You can check out HeadPorter products at http://head-porter.org/home.htm

Enough rant! i think that was not brief at all... Haha. Since baby could book out on weekends already, we have watched a number of movies and headed to town together!

I loveeeeee shopping with baby in town! Here's 2 dresses i tried on from Miss SelfFridge. This cutting of theirs is really flattering and easy to wear but i dint buy any! One's too plain and the other's too over the top cause the prints were actually blue-ish. I bought a toga dress from TopShop instead. It's unlike any thing i have ever worn i guess, cause it's body hugging and more feminine. But somehow the boyfriend thinks it feels like "Tarzan and Jane" with the 1 shoulder effect. And my girlfriends who checked it out after thought it looked Sporty! But wth, i bought it anyway without any idea of when i would ever wear it. It's white with grey stripes in 3 directions. Let's hope it doesn't get chucked into a corner...

So... i guess i went out of point. I just adore doing anything with my silly boy (: Here's a tired looking him on the cab to town that day. Again,

Sushi, boyfriend and family (:

It's another non-productive Sunday! I uploaded the photos quite a few days back so i'm hoping the blogging bug will still come to me as i start typing. I think i will take a long time again cause i kept typing nonsensical things due to my bad flu.

AHhHHH. I have been sick for like 2 months?! Ever since my viral infection and i got laryngitis, i havent managed to get my voice back. It's still rather low and my throat's feeling uncomfortable 24/7. I think i hurt my voice box and i'm so afraid i wont get my usual voice back. Especially my higher pitch voice. Like i can only talk in a low tone and i can't hum or sing nicely - every line will sound as if i went out of tune. It's so scary now that every morning i wake up, i try to hum and see if i still got my voice :( I tried to maintain a healthy diet for the first 2 wks, then i gave up. Me? Healthy food? I guess all the junk food and kfc is not helping (Yewtee is so amazing now! There's over 10 choices of food places including Subway, BurgerKing, HongKong Cafe, JalanKayu, KouFu...)

Now i'm getting worse! I have 3, or 4? ulcers in the left of my mouth. They're those in the gum. Unbelievably painful laa. Bad sorethroat plus a crazy flu that keeps me feeling piao1 piao1 ran2 in not a good way. And i just visited the dentist for scaling & polishing... he told me that my wisdom tooth is growing in the same corner. After all the painful stories i have heard, i'm getting freaked out about the amount of uncomfortable soreness im going to feel. Wow, i've lamented my plight for 2 whole paragraphs! -.-"

Moving on, I prepared sushi for baby for his first bookout from Tekong! Yep, it's the 2nd time i'm making him sushi (cause it's easier and can keep for longer. hah) but somehow i always spend HOURS making a simple thing. As shared with my favourite girls Bee & Yin recently, even ready-made ingredients are not safe from our hands. Haha. So... i met up with them for grocery shopping!

I plan to make crab mayo, egg mayo, egg omelette, porkfloss, tuna and scallops sushi! Then i decided to give up trying to make e omelette ones.

Some useful tool i got from Daiso! Put the rice in, press and pop 'em out! Non-stick too! I think i had too much fun doing this that's why i made way too much sushi.

First up, egg mayo that's not chopped finely enough. Haha (:

Then, crab mayonnaise. Followed by pork floss and seasoned scallops.

Then i got bored with doing th same type of sushi and decided to make use of the bamboo sticks i bought. Roll, tuna, roll!

After many hours, lo and behold!

Think i overdid them.. haha. Anyway, does anybody add sweetening stuff like sugar to the rice? Apart from vinegar i mean, because my brother says that the sushi outside are always sweet. Hmm... After which, i chose the nicer ones and packed them in with love! (the rest are for my family and myself. hehs)

As compared to those i did a year back, do they look better or worse? Last year it was overflowing. Haha.

Eh... I think last year's looked better? Haha. But the process was messier laa... you see --> Sushi for the first time . Please just glance and forget cause the pictures are a year back and my blog style then was scuky too. Don't read too much into it *shy*. Lol.

And this is the final lunch box! He finished them too (: The first time round, pork floss was his fav. Now it's the crab and egg ones (: Teehee. And i conclude that making sushi is not that easy after all! The cost and the preparation was da bomb. But it was all worth it! I didnt have the time to make the drinks i have planned thou. Oh well (:

Pictures from our town visit before Victor books in to a full-time chalet at Tekong! I treated baby to Hip Diner's (: I loved their burgers! Especially Stars & Stripes. It has everything on it and i always knew at the back of my mind that baby would love it. I have raved about it before.

My usual burger. Baby wanted to try Gut's burger, the one with Everything on it! The moment he saw it, all skeptical thoughts of a burger not being satisfying enough flew out the window.

My leftover food. Tsk. I think all the anticipating for the burger has already filled my stomach. After 2 bites, i complained of being full but i tried to stuff myself. Hey, it's not a lot left already okay...

Nonetheless, i enjoyed my day with baby. Shopping, neoprints, dinner and a long ride home together (: You've booked in again but we had 4 blissful days together. I dread your outfield that's coming but we'll pull through too. LOVE.

In the last 2 months, we also celebrated my mummy and daddy's birthdays! For mummy's birthday, we headed out to Crystal Jade for dinner and then to some HongKong cafe for dad's (:

Daddy's 53! I love my family (: And i enjoyed our Zoo Trip during the CNY!

And i love FatFat! Sorry, the boxer shorts i bought for you is waaay too big. The shop assistant said i could bring you out to try if im not sure of the size but i bought it anyway. It's for 3years and up but you're only 1+. That must be the reason. Oh well. My friends are probably staring in shock that i'm treating FatFat like a real living thing. *shrugs*

And i love my friends too! (don't say i forgot you guys!) Love the company from y'all when the boyfriend is not around (: *Hugs*

Alright, i'm going to try to do something productive like my lesson plans ok (my head starts to hurt whenever i think about work). Gahh. Baby's birthday is coming very soon! I'm going off to watch teevee with daddy and korkor (:

oh what a Sunday (:

GAHHH. I know i'm abandoning my blog again :(

It's not that i have totally lost the mood for blogging (well, a little) but... it's just that whenever i get the mood, i'll be putting the pictures together and by the time i'm done choosing or uploading, it's hours later and i've lost the mood. Or that it's ridicuolously late again and i've got to sleep. I'm sure you understand my difficulties... Haha.

Just an update, baby's been out from his first 2 weeks in Tekong! In fact, this is our 2nd cherished weekend together (: & i've just spoke to him on the phone (: I've also met up with the clique for some crazyfun at Cathay. We played a super silly rabbit series of games at the entrance of the shop. Lol.

ahh. I think i'm too distracted to blog. My brother's so right, Sundays are the most unproductive days. I basically slacked around with baby then at home till now. Yet somehow i've developed a throbbing headache :( I shall try harder at blogging after work and meeting tml. Tata!
