I am currently wondering where my next phase of life will take me. I'm also a UK size 6 whom is perpetually late. I tend to procrastinate altho i dislike it. Im totally jaded about ulcers because of my favourite indulgence in junkfood. I love kids and all things small as midget-sized things are always adorable. So if you decide to like me amidst my weird quirks, i think i'll like you too (:

    review for lombok.co.uk

Just moved? Bored of how everything looks same old, same old? Thinking of giving your place a new look yet still feel comfortable and natural?

I have just the solution for you!

Lombok, is an Eastern inspired furniture brand that keeps the environment in mind while they source for natural and recycled materials to create pieces that are stylish, comfortable and with that reassuring lived-in feel. Beautiful and environmental friendly, now that's a good combination!

They have several shops in London and are expanding confidently nationwide. As such, when you enter their site at http://www.lombok.co.uk/, their prices are in pounds. For locals, here's the exchange rate for you:

    1SGD = 0.4439GBP

Let's take a look at what they have! From their site, you can browse comfortably from furniture to lighting and accessories as they categorized neatly into 4 main parts of our daily lives, mainly,

. When i first glanced at the site, i was hooked on for hours going through all the gorgeous setting they have done up with their furniture. It's like how you love shopping at Ikea!

Under Eat, they have a wide variety of dining tables, chairs, console tables, tableware... Under Live, they have cupboards, dressers, benches, daybeds, upholstered seating... Under Work, they have desks, office chairs, book cases, desk accessories ectera. I have left out Sleep, because it's my favourite section! Under Sleep, they have lovely beds, bedlinen, throws and quilts, screens, bedside tables, chest of drawers, wardrobes and many more!!

I think the bedroom has to be the most nicely done up place in the house because it's where you go to for relaxation and snooze whenever you need. It should be luxurious and so comfortable that when you wake up, you feel "ahh... life is good", smile, and snuggle abit more before you start your day. Tee-hee. I love my bedroom, i decorated it myself and it's a nice soothing blue with a queen-sized bed, quilt, curtain and soothing posters of the beach. However, i guess i wouldn't mind if you could change it into Lombok-style like this:

It feels so Bintan-ish! I wouldn't have to take a ferry to get the island feel anymore because it can be achieved right at home with Lombok! (I wish. Or maybe somebody would like to sponsor the change for my house? (:)

Then, i'll furnish my new place with romantic lighting with the use of lamps! You get to choose your lampbase to match with your lampshade too! Here are 2 of my favourite lamps, Hana style floor lamp and another with an Oval ceramic lamp base.

Some windlights are needed to supply the romantic atmosphere too, of course. Tadah, 2 of my favourite windlights, Clear beaded and bamboo windlight and Glass windlight with natural stone coloured base! Even the names sound nice. Hehs.

Tealight holders add that extra bit of sparkle on the table as well! Here's Stainless steel Hammered tealight holder and Beaded silver votive.

Lombok also provides pretty accessories such as these handmade Floral coasters!

Imagine when visitors come by... ..."oh hey your strawberry mocktail is really nice... what's this underneath? Wow! Even your coasters are pretty, can i have one? Please?"

    ... ...

ANYWAY, this is a very good time to check out Lombok because...

they are having a SALE! I know we all love Sales! Even small accessories like the coasters have become cheaper by £4.65, that's over S$10 cheaper! The Clear beaded and bamboo windlight is now £14.00 (S$31.50) only, after a discount of £15.35 (S$34.57) So, can you imagine the amount of money you can save from the bigger pieces like beds and tables? Please do the Math yourself!

Moreover, many of their items are painstakingly handmade! I'm sure you will be amazed when you see the description of how the items are made from the site. Okay, let me just show you 2 descriptions. The last 2 pieces i mentioned were the lamp and the coasters so here goes.

    The lamp:

"made from clear glass beads which have been carefully hand woven through a bamboo frame. The bamboo has been stained white. Each windlight has a glass tube to act as a windshield, allowing the windlights to be used outside and also protecting the beads from the heat"

    and the coasters,

"the paper starts as a silver layer and black paint is layered over the top. The design is then etched out by hand using acid which removes the black allowing the silver to shine through. The design is made on flat sheets and then the very fine layer of metal paper is wrapped around a wooden box lid and coasters and held in place by tiny tacks".

Phew, i feel tired simply from reading the process. With all this intensive work needed to produce exquisite Lombok pieces, the money is definitely worth it! Go check out Lombok.co.uk yourself now!
